Sweet 26

For the past few years, my biggest birthday present to myself has been a splurge order from Modcloth.

Luckily for me though, a dress I've had my eye on for awhile went on sale around the time I was placing my order. Not only the dress is long enough, but it's well made and comfortable. I wore it all day on my birthday without any problems.

I just made sure to be extra careful when eating, since it's white and I'm a total klutz.

I was loving the other little details of this fun, celebratory outfit, including a birthday cake ring I bought the other day, making the outfit a little quirky and timely. :) And I really took a liking to the lace back, even though I hated it at first. It gives the mostly conservative dress a little bit of edge. (So does my little green septum ring.)

I was also really hoping I would hear Katy Perry's Birthday song on the radio. Hehe.

How do you strike the balance between edgy and sweet in your outfits?

  2. Gah, this dress! It's gorgeous! So very splurge-worthy/birthday purchase appropriate. I especially love it with thee awesome flats!

Also, if you're still interested in my lace dress, I'd be willing to sell it to you for cheap! It would be put to much better use with you, so I could do $10 + $3 shipping. Just let me know!

Also, I would love for you to come live in my backyard and be my photographer. So on board with that idea. :)

  5. Happy belated birthday! :) I'm seriously always staining my clothes so I totally get that lol. I am not above wearing a bib.

    1. That's honestly not a bad idea. It's better than getting a stain and frantically trying to rub it out, only to have an awkward wet splotch on my outfit. Not that I've ever had that experience or anything. Lol.

  6. Happy late birthday! I'm quite behind on my blog reading so I hope you don't mind!

I'm terrible for dropping food on me so I will put a napkin on my lap, if I'm trying to be smart, but if I'm with the bf then I'll just tuck it into my neck and wear a bib!

I'm not sure I have a balance, I think I just go both ways, either edgy or girly/sweet haha, depends on my mood :)
